Nagano Ishii Miso félnapos vezetett gasztrotúra

I’m so happy I booked this. It was a fascinating insight into an area I have little knowledge of. We were lucky and honoured to have Mr. Ishii himself, the current President and 6th Generation conducting the tour. The Miso tasting meal at the end of the tour in their Restaurant was probably the best meal of my entire trip, packed full of incredible flavours and contrasts. Anyone wanting to do this tour should skip breakfast so they can make the most of it. Arigato Gozaimasu 😀

Not sure if it was intended but my tour guide was the miso company’s CEO who spoke great english. Lunch was really nice, all the items were made with miso. At the end you also get a bag of goodies: a shirt, a jar of their 3 year aged miso, etc. Definitely check it out if you are in Matsumoto.

This is a tour where you arrive yourself. It is very informative as it is run by a 6th generation family member who speaks great English and who knows the science and art of miso very well. The tour took just over 30 minutes and was followed by a delicious lunch. We were also given show bags as a bonus- Im not sure whether that always happens or whether it was because it was New Year. Highly recommend- we went to art gallery beforehand which is 5 min walk.

you can take this tour for free, but with this experience you get what was one of the best meals I had, where you can try different misos, and a bag full of goodies (with miso of course) to take home.

I had a wonderful experience joining this tour. The tour guide who is the current CEO of the miso brewery explained to the guests about miso. After the guide, i had lunch featuring the miso that they had crafted in the warehouse. Totally recommend!

This was our favorite part of our visit to Matsumoto. The tour was informative, easy to understand and so interesting. We started analyzing and comparing every miso soup we had on the rest of our trip after this. haha The lunch was delicious in a lovely setting. Highly recommend!

the tour guide which is the owner of the factory speaks very good english and is very clear in his explantion. the food served was delicious. definitely recommend to any one who likes to know more about miso and taste the food

The tour was excellent, and given by the big boss himself! His English was excellent. I appreciated him taking the time to answer our questions and taking us through the process step by step, not just in his factory but also on miso production in Japan as a whole. The lunch was exceptional, the flavours perfectly balanced. The staff was courteous throughout and the gift bag was very well thought out. I enjoyed my time here and highly recommend this experience. Excellent value and a high quality experience.

we were a few minutes late because we found two similar but not identical addresses on the communication, one saying meet at the factory and another providing a different address. but the staff were lovely once we found out way. the tour is pretty short so ask questions to get more from it. we learned a lot and helped us realize just how special the miso was that we were tasting, and the differences in how they are made in different areas. the lunch that was included was outstanding, one of the best meals we have had in the week since arriving served in a tatami-matted room tucked away. The other gifts were lovely and especially the 3 year old miso that we will savour after we return home. if all you want is to learn about miso then just go for the brief free tour.
