Great
Beautiful hotel in a historical building in the centre of Gent. Walking distance to all the main sights. We stayed in a junior suite which is spacious and comfortable with exposed beams on the top floor. Unfortunately no view because the windows look out on the roofs on the buildings on the opposite side of the street.

Good

Stayed with family · For friends and family

We were looking forward to a relaxing time at the hotel after many difficulties traveling because of the heat causing transportation issues. Initially we were very happy to find the hotel and the people at reception were great. However when we wanted to relax outside and have a drink we were initially treated very rudely then simply ignored until we left, which didn't take long. If we wanted rude Flemish service there was plenty on the terraces up the street to be had! While they didn't bother to even mention the pool and spa or other common areas we searched them out but the pool was closed because they couldn't handle the chemistry (apparently draining it and refilling it wasn't an option), so a good deal of what we paid for at the hotel was unusable. It was a pity as it was a nice space and while most of the staff were nice there were enough who seemed to think they were celebrities not hotel employees that it left us with little desire to use the facilities. On top of all that the air conditioning was not sufficient for the heat and we had to change rooms as our fiest was unbearable, not exactly how we wanted to spend our vacation time. In the end I think a holiday apartment would have suited us better.
