Sutera Sanctuary Lodges at Poring Hot Springs

We stayed in the riverside cottage which consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a hall. Ideal for 2 small families or one big family. It is very cosy just beside the flowing stream. Very comfortable stay experience. This place is far from the main town of Ranau so you are solely relying on their restaurant. We like the food. But not very happy with the breakfast options. This place is within the Hotspring KK National Park. So everything is within walking distance. A good piece of advice is to carry your rain gear because it rains very unpredictably here. Also if you are planning to visit make sure you arrive early because activities close by 3 pm.

The room was clean and spacious, just a short walk from Poring Hot Springs. You can hear the nearby waterfall from the room, which makes for a calming way to wake up. I stayed during the low season, and it seemed like the pantry supplies hadn’t been refreshed in a while. WiFi is only available at the lobby, and mobile signal in the area is very weak, so getting internet access — even with mobile data — can be difficult. One issue I encountered was the shower room flooding slightly, as the drainage wasn’t very effective. Also, there aren’t many food stalls around at night, so it’s best to sort out dinner before heading in. The in-house Rainforest restaurant is available, but quite expensive. That said, the surroundings are peaceful and lovely, especially if you’re looking for a quiet, nature-filled stay.
