The listing stated that the room included an in-room refrigerator and in-room microwave, but neither of those amenities was provided. It also advertised access to Netflix and Apple TV, but I was never able to use those services because the Wi-Fi would not work properly. I reached out approximately five times for assistance, but the issue was never resolved.
Additionally, the room was advertised as newly renovated, which did not reflect its actual condition. The room appeared quite worn, and there were areas that looked like mold, which was concerning.
The building was also described as having soundproof walls, but that was not my experience. I was kept awake until nearly 1:00 a.m. by neighboring guests showering, using hair dryers, and noise from the hallway. Unfortunately, the lack of soundproofing made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.
Another issue involved the shared bathrooms. Based on the reviews and description, I expected there to be readily available bathrooms on our floor. However, the only bathroom on our floor was unavailable every time we attempted to use it, forcing us to go down to the basement each time.

So, listen— do yourself a favor and avoid this guesthouse like the plague. If you’re going to book an expensive trip to Iceland, the least you can do is book a place that you can stay comfortably.
The guesthouse listing failed to mention just HOW MANY other people are staying in this place. To give you an idea, this guesthouse has THREE levels- a sea of people in a tiny guesthouse with limited bathrooms and one little kitchen that everyone is forced to share.
Upon staying here, I quickly realized cooking my own meals would be a challenge in and of itself. Time is of the essence and I was trying to explore, not wait for everyone to finish preparing and cooking their meals. Not to mention, there were guests drunk and loud as hell in conversation at midnight in the kitchen. There were nights that I simply could not sleep restfully and had to pay the price for it the next day.
My TV never worked. Brought it up to them multiple times, their favorite immediately reply is “I’ll check with the team and get back to you shortly”. Guess what? Never happened. I was never able to unwind with a show before bed as I’m used to in my own home. The staff simply does not care.
Don’t make the same mistake that I did and try to cheapen your stay by staying here. Spend the extra bit of money and stay in a place you can feel comfortable and not be surrounded by strangers that are just as uncomfortable as you are.
Never, ever, ever again. The worst stay I’ve ever experienced.

Convenient location. Well equipped shared kitchen. Shared bathrooms, but there were multiple bathrooms so never had to wait. Simple but comfortable accommodation.

The room was ok, basic 2 twin beds. There's some electric outlet that seem unsafe. Kitchen counters had packing tape over the areas falling apart. TV would not work. Shower tile was gross and moldy. Shower would not drain. Towels were 5 years old. Torn on the sides. Messaged the property and they brought new ones. We had the same place reserved for our last night, but canceled it.

The room was comfortable and clean, as well as the bathroom and kitchen. Loved the coffee machine for breakfast and was a very enjoyable space to have breakfast in. Great location and managed to park right in front of it. Close to Halgrimskirkja and square, which was useful too

Shared kitchen and bathroom were good, room was great except the curtains were not large enough to cover all the windows so we had lots of natural light all night, parking was limited but close by, excellent location overall and price was good

FantasticStayed with friends
This is a good, affordable place for those who are traveling on a budget, and like to be downtown. Everything is is walking distance.
We had a nice room, right next to the shared bathroom. Everything was clean and well maintained.
The kitchen had a nice espresso machine, but no freezer.
We didn't use the laundry machines, but there were available in the basement.
Overall very positive experience.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was a good size. Everyone was nice. Parking was a bit rough we would get back late but was never too far. Kitchen was very clean and useful. Everything was clean. Curtains to block out the sun were useful.
