⭐☆☆☆☆ 1/5 Very disappointing stay. We booked through Expedia, which prominently advertises transparent pricing and a final total cost. Yet when we arrived, Mercure Hotel refused to give us our room key until we paid an additional €8 per room, per night fee that was never clearly disclosed during booking. The city tax on the hotel’s paperwork also appeared to match the city tax already shown on our Expedia invoice, yet no one could provide a clear explanation of the additional charges. After a 10 hour flight we just wanted to get to our room, and I felt they knew this. The customer service was even worse. On the third morning of our stay, after two nights in the same sheets, I removed the bedsheets and specifically asked the front desk to have them changed. I was told it would be taken care of. When we returned later that day, the sheets were still unchanged. I called the front desk and was told housekeeping had already gone home. A short time later, a member of housekeeping contacted me directly to explain that she never saw the dirty bed. Interesting, because I thought housekeeping had already gone home. Also, the sheets had been removed from the bed and the front desk had already been notified. The recurring theme throughout our stay was simple: excuses instead of solutions. Unexpected fees, contradictory explanations, and poor customer service. I would not stay here again.

Nice hotel, we were given adjoining rooms as we had children with us, noisy area however to be expected in the city.

Pros: First, this shouldn’t be a surprise but the hotel is well located, a minute walk from the arc de triomphe and to a subway station. It doesn’t get better than this for a central location. Second, the area is safe, there are many food options around even though restaurants could be overpriced. The bed was fine, but the blackout curtains were simply amazing: Seriously, if you leave them closed, you won’t know whether it’s 2 am or noon. The staff was also very friendly and helpful to us. Cons: Our room (2 adults) was very small. Even for a single person I would have found the room to be on the smaller side.

Very nice hotel, great location and helpful staff. Room and bathroom were slightly small but hard to get much bigger in central Paris

Excellent location, but hardly any amenities. Breakfast was also good, but because of room size and lack of amenities it is not a true 4 star hotel.
