We stayed at Mikazuki Da Nang for two nights with our family. From the moment we arrived, the staff set a high bar. Our concierge Thuy was attentive and genuinely helpful throughout our stay, and Huy at the Executive Club on Level 22 delivered standout service that made that space one of the highlights of our trip. The food was also excellent — the noodle station in particular, where the chef's soups were some of the best we had in Vietnam.
That said, the overall experience did not match what we expected from a five-star property.
The biggest issue was the shared locker rooms between hotel guests and water park day visitors. It made what should have been a premium experience feel crowded and impersonal. We also did not see a lifeguard supervising the outdoor lazy river — a real concern when traveling with young children. The traditional kids' games were a nice idea in concept, but they were calibrated so difficult that our children left frustrated rather than having fun.
We visited several five-star resorts during our Vietnam trip, including Sheraton Da Nang. Compared to those properties, Mikazuki stands out for its water park, onsen, and staff quality. But the luxury feel, family-focused amenities, and safety standards need work to justify the overall positioning as a premium resort.
Thuy, Huy, and the culinary team were exceptional. The property has real potential — it just needs to close the gap between its best moments and the full guest experience.
