Guided by Jan, this tour turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. Jan brought the neighborhoods to life with deep historical knowledge, personal anecdotes, and a clear passion for the cultural richness of Istanbul. He had a gift for storytelling, blending architecture, religion, and everyday life into a narrative that was both accessible and inspiring. From centuries old churches and synagogues to colorful houses tucked into quiet alleyways, every stop felt intentional and meaningful. The pace of the tour was relaxed yet engaging, giving us plenty of time for questions, photos, and spontaneous discoveries. He also took the time to explain the layers of history in Fener and Balat, from the Greek Orthodox legacy to the Ottoman and Jewish influences, in a way that was clear. What made the experience truly special was Jan himself. He was warm, welcoming, and incredibly well prepared.

It was a very educational tour for us. Our guide, Jan, was very patient and explained to us all the different places that we visited. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see a different side of Istanbul other than the usual Old City tours.

Our guide, Can Halil, was extremely knowledgeable, easy to understand, and extremely kind. He was a wonderful person. I was very annoyed when I received requests for reviews both during and after the tour. I came all the way from Japan, and I'm enjoying the moment and have a packed schedule. Yet, the management only thinks about themselves, which is very frustrating. I felt very disappointed.

Getting this tour was worth the money and knowledge. We enjoyed the walk and got to know and appreciate more of the Ottoman Empire, and love the multi-religious and cultural diversity of Turkiye.
