Allen was well organised and his English was impeccable. The private van was very comfortable. We had the 4 hr tour and managed to hit all the landmarks of the tour, but you'll need the 6 hr tour if you want a boat ride of the lake. Allen provided basic insight and interesting history of the Summer Palace. Would still recommend if you want a dedicated Summer Palace tour with organised transport

Christine was an amazing tour guide at the Summer Palace. I was a solo traveler but she made everything so comfortable and helped me look around the important Summer Palace areas.
