Hotel La Grande Cloche

The hotel is in a historic building that has been much modified to a style that could be "industrial chic". In public areas, much pipework is deliberately displayed and some plastered walls taken back to bare brick. The accommodation section is secured by an electronic lock opened by the room key. The room size was sufficient but not spacious so furnishing other than the beds was sparse. This is to be expected in a hotel of the Art Nouveau period, considering that the en suite facilities have taken up some of the original floor-space. The room was well sound-proofed but Place Rouppe is fairly quiet anyway. The air-con will be useful in hot weather. A bonus was the gratis provision in the public area of tea/coffee throughout the day and even after we had checked out. The staff were helpful and we could leave our luggage after checking out so we were not hampered during our last day. We did not try the breakfast. Place Rouppe has several eating places of which Le St.d'Hic, on the other side of Rue Midi at No.5, is traditionally Bruxelloise in atmosphere and menu. Access to the historic centre or Gare Midi is easy on foot, but there is public transport if needed.

Good location Great view. Everything else is okay

The staff were friendly on arrival, tbe check in and checkout were both so easy. The amenities including free coffee in the lounge area and coffee and kettle in the room were bonuses. The hotel itself was very clean. For a small room it did not feel cramped at all! Two things I would add as an improvement-first adding a full length mirror to the room and second adding a hairdryer or at least having to option to borrow onr from the reception. Overall wonderful, clean, quiet and safe stay

Great location, funky fitout

Value for money unbeatable Room was everything you needed Quiet Clean well appointed Bed was comfortable bathroom clean worked perfectly TV has easy connection to your mobile apps and free WiFI means you can watch your favourite programming no problem Location is great very central easy walk from Gare centrale and grand place Layout of hotel is a little quirky but once you get used to it it’s no problem Definitely my go to place for Brussels now

Rustic look. Friendly staff. Excellent location. Not sure why they have auto turn off lights in dark alleys, which take forever to turn on. Fix them. Breakfast is not worth paying for, you can better options just 10min walking.

Room was very clean and fashionable , perfect for a few nights stay , tea and coffee making facilities available at hotel in room and lobby. Breakfast could be added for an additional charge however I did not opt for this. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Would stay again

Perfect stay, short walk to the Gran Place. Room was modern, clean and tidy, had a nice view over the fountain on the square. Free coffee in the reception was a nice touch to start the day. Late checkout time and I managed to get an early check in too. Will say here again in Brussels.

The hotel is clean and the staff friendly and welcoming. It’s in a good location, a ten minute walk from Gare du Midi and five minutes from Grand Place. We didn’t try the breakfast and didn’t need the air conditioning. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
