Second stay just as good as the first. Friendly helpful staff. The in house restaurants and bar are all terrific. Most striking and welcoming is the decor: mid century styles in jewel colours making the rooms and lobby feel warm and welcoming in th midst of a Canberra winter.

The hotel was very welcoming and had a nice calming feel when you walked in. It had easy car parking for only $20 overnight. The rooms were large and had all the facilities needed, including a nespresso machine which I needed waking up early with nothing open nearby.

Kitchenette was well equipped.

Front desk girl on arrival not particularly pleasant. Then departing front desk girl tried to charge us (the previous guests bill) for her mistake! Unpleasant.

Fantastic restaurant, location and comfort. Always stay here when in Canberra.

A top notch experience for our four night stay in a one bedroom apt at East Hotel in Canberra. Underground parking was a key consideration for our stay and it worked well ($20 a night). Very pleasant and helpful staff and a great restaurant (Italian) downstairs where we had both breakfast and dinner a couple of times. Fast wifi. Amazing hot water (the hottest I think we have ever come across, anywhere!). Firm king sized bed with comfortable mattress topper was great. Aircon was effective (its starting to get cold in Canberra in May!). Excellent soundproofing (we were on the 5th floor, directly opposite the "Kingo" hotel (world famous in Canberra). A couple of very minor (1st world) issues. The lighting in the apt was not great for makeup (so my wife told me), though there are plenty of mirrors. There was plenty of clothes storage space (including hanging), though the fact that some of this storage was in the bathroom was a little odd. Kitchen was very well appointed, with a full range of pots and pans (better than almost anywhere else we have stayed in our extensive travels). In apt laundry facilities were top notch (though we didn't use them), with separate washer and dryer. The provision of free and very tasty jellybeans and chocolate sprinkles near reception was a nice touch as well. Overall we couldn't fault the service and amenities for our stay at East Hotel.

Always good. Modern. Comfortable. Peaceful but convenient location.

We love staying here - great location - excellent rooms and the artistic vibe is outstanding. The paintings, the decor - it feels like being on a holiday overseas but it's right here. So many nice extras as well (bed spray etc). My favourite! thank you for looking after us.
