Helpful nice place but the ac is terrible

Very miseleadi g in stating beach access and chairs, etc provided. The beach is across a very dirty street/alley with several homeless people and beach future is DYI…..a good 100-200 yard walk to the public beach that is crowded in a summer wind w no food service, etc. was expecting to be more like neighboring hotels and beach was not even going to happen with teen girls walking back and forth alone to get food or use bathroom. Pool is nice but food and bar is very limited. Reserved a cabana but food was delivered to a different cabana so never arrived. Pool was also very crowded and difficult to find a place to sit in the sun. Lobby and outdoor areas are beautiful but overall not worth the cost.

Whole experience was very good

To whon it may concern From all the years of being a Marriott Bonvoy member this place has been the most horrible experience that I had stay. On the evening of my night that I stay I was call by front desk that valet parking had an accident with my car in which one of the other cars had hit my car and the rear window was broken. Was not able to enjoy that evening the 4th of July celebration and sleep that night because of the situation That was evening was informed by the Hotel staff that due to the inconvenience they would only charge for half of the room and that they would fix my car in the morning. Morning came the car was not fix. Was informed that I could stay till 5 pm but my plans for the 4 of July and on Sunday to relaxed and enjoy the tme with the familly were ruin. Finally, around 4 o'clock was able leave but family plans were ruin because of the stress cause by unexpected situation at your property. What got me really angry annoy and stressful was the professionalism of the staff and especially the Manager not being professionally compassionate and helpful. I was told that evening that I would receive a discount for my stay due the stressful situation but now the manager said that it was not their problem with cold shoulders. That the situation was cause by the valet parking company hired by your hotel. So, it was their responsibility. The manager then went to say that I was never informed about the discount. Calling me a lier.

Pool great warm heated!

The staff and amenities were very nice. Great gym. However, the pricing on nearly everything is bit insane. Getting charged a “destination fee” every night per person is ridiculous. Additionally, upgrade your AC. It wasn’t even that hot while we were there and the AC could not keep up with the weather. I couldn’t imagine staying there during 80+ degree weather. My biggest complaint is about the first room we stayed in. It was on the third floor terrace which means the door to the room is exposed to the environment. This only worsened the already poor AC. The door was terribly warped so all the humidity from outside made its way into the room. We could not sleep at all. You should decommission all those rooms until fixed. They are not fit for guests. This situation, while very disappointing, did allow the staff to shine. They were responsive to our complaint and found an alternative room within 12 hours which was much better. Overall the location was great and we didn’t spend a ton of time in the hotel because we could walk everywhere. This hotel in a different area would be fantastic because the pricing was just ridiculous. 25 dollar cocktails meant a minimum 100 dollar meal every time. 2 entrees and 1 cocktail each. We knew it’d be pricey going in but the hotel should lower prices on site to make the visit more enjoyable. Or offer discounts based on how long you are staying. Probably wouldn’t return to Santa Monica period.

Great value for money! Great staff and service! Gwen in the reception makes a difference. I can highly recommend this place.

This property is absolutely beautiful. You’re right on the water! The staff bends over backwards to accommodate and it was spotless. I highly recommend staying.

Amazing service in every aspect, amazing amenities, and walking distance to everything!

Wonderful stay at the Sandbourne! Room was beautiful, great location. Short walk to the beach, towels provided. Quiet and didn't hear noise from hallway or other rooms. Coffee in lobby every morning. Self serve market with essentials. Lovely pool area with plenty of seating. Staff was welcoming and professional. Will return!
