Great property. Didn't know what to expect in a "5 Star" hotel in Vietnam, but overall, it was good.
Staff is great, very helpful, respectful and friendly. Much more attentive and personalized service than pretty much any hotel in the U.S.
Gorgeous lobby. Told me my room wasn't ready, (which I find suspicious since I never saw or heard another person on my floor the entire week), so I had a decent lunch at the restaurant. Bellhop took my luggage to my room and showed me the property.
Room is good. Quite large, had an actual kitchen. Hot when I arrived but the air conditioning was very good. Sparsely furnished. Bed was bad, very hard. TV hard to use. WiFi is spotty.
Pool was nice. Not deep, but perfect temp. Wish there was a hot tub. Never found pool towels. Tried the massage place (legit) next to the pool last evening I was there, amazing service for stupid cheap.
Breakfast buffet in Tastes was interesting. Not much usual Western breakfast stuff, but usually had a few things to make it worthwhile to stop in each morning.
They exchanged currency at the front desk for no fee (if over $20). Pretty particular about having nice bills without tears, though.
Not much to see in the area. Across the street are some great restaurants (steakhouse, sushi, pizza) with much better food than Tastes. Convenience store in the corner of the hotel has lots of beer, liquor and drinks.
Overall, a good place to stay if you have business in New City. Way better than I was expecting.
