We recently stayed at Number One York Guest House and had a wonderful experience overall. The staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Our suite was exceptionally spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made it feel like a home away from home.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great selection and high-quality ingredients. It was the perfect start to each day.
My only criticisms are relatively minor. The external stairs are extremely noisy, and the excessive creaking from people walking up and down them can be quite disruptive, especially early in the morning or late at night. I also feel that the lounge area would benefit from having separate voile curtains, similar to those in the bedroom, to provide additional privacy while still allowing plenty of natural light into the room.
Despite these small issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Number One York Guest House to anyone visiting York.
