Just… no.
Casa Marina is wildly overpriced for what it is. I have stayed at rough all-inclusives in the Dominican that felt more luxurious than this — and at least there, someone was trying to hand me food and alcohol.
The “beach” is the biggest disappointment. Calling it a beach feels generous. It is ugly, underwhelming, and nobody seemed particularly interested in helping with drinks or making it feel like a resort experience.
The amenities were also something special: loud maintenance workers pressure-washing the pool area at 3:30 a.m., a broken microwave sitting outside our room when we arrived, old golf carts for rent that looked like they had survived several hurricanes, overpriced drinks from the outside bar served in what appeared to be little Dixie cups, and housekeeping that apparently only happens if you specifically ask for it.
The unexpected highlight was that, by chance, we walked by and got to hear a pretty good wedding cover band singing Journey songs. So there’s that.
I really wanted to like this place because it is Key West and the name sounds fancy. But for the price, the whole experience felt tired, sloppy, and nowhere close to what it sells itself as.
Real classy place.
