Good hotel to stay for business or pleasure

The hotel has 5 stars public facilities but the rooms are outdated and need serious refurbishment. The bathroom particularly was at 2 stars level. The service was very slow as well: ordering a sandwich can take 40 minutes... Plus side the location is fantastic: the revolving restaurant has probably the best view in Cairo.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the Cairo Hilton. The hotel is an impressive landmark on the banks of the Nile, and you can easily imagine it being a truly world-class property in its prime. The location on the river is excellent and offers fantastic views. However, the hotel now feels heavily used and is beginning to show its age. As smoking is permitted in some rooms, my room had a noticeable tobacco smell, which was disappointing. The security presence at the entrance also felt overly rigid and, at times, unwelcoming. While security is important, some staff appeared inexperienced, and a warmer, more customer-focused approach would create a much better first impression. There were also several maintenance and service issues. The bins in the room were broken, and housekeeping was inconsistent, with room servicing feeling somewhat temperamental during my stay. One point to note is that, although the hotel enjoys an excellent riverside location, it is not within convenient walking distance of local shops, so most outings require transport. Overall, the Cairo Hilton has great potential, an iconic setting and many strengths, but greater attention to maintenance, customer service and room standards would significantly enhance the guest experience to true 5 star.

The views are phenomenal, I was on the 29th floor and I had views to the pyramid and the Nile river. The staff were very helpful, professional and courteous and they did their best to accommodate us. The hotel is clean and has everything you need you can spend the whole day in there not even need to get out if you don’t want to. We would definitely stay there again we loved it. The carpet could use an upgrade, it’s a little bit dirty and old in their rooms and the corridor so we had slippers on all the time but that’s the only thing that I noticed that was not perfect, everything else was phenomenal. The pool was phenomenal, the spa is good, the staff is warm and welcoming and the rooms were great and clean and the hotel lobby felt like being an hour living room. We loved this place.

We deserved better for our money. We were in utter disbelief of the state of the room we were first sent to. Stained carpets and beds and walls, moldy bathroom, defective appliances, dirty dusty balcony, etc... Not to mention telling us they're gonna charge us extra for an extra bed and sending us an absolutely filthy bed with stains on its legs and a boot print on the mattress. I SWEAR BY GOD that the employee who folded it out for me said even he wouldn't sleep on it, I wish I recorded it. That was the straw that broke the camel's back that made us demand to speak to the manager immediately, and we had him summoned to my room twice, just to deal with all the issues we was encountering. The hotel's saving grace was the responsiveness of the management staff to transfer us to a somewhat cleaner room and them being extremely courteous and professional with us there after. As of the end of last week, Hilton has been thoroughly pushed down our list of future stays.
