The service is impeccable without being uncomfortably pompous. The staff are honest, calm, measured, competent and considerate. They do go out of their way, so tipping seemed fair to me.
The rooms are how I like them; very comfortable, easy to organise yourself in, not full of things you don't need but with all the things you do including little touches that actually make a difference to a stay. Pretty. Great breakfasts. Peaceful yet close to the main attractions. Balcony rooms are lovely. I'm pretty careful with hotels, it took me almost 12 hrs to finally choose this one, as it was my first hotel in Nepal. I chose well.
