I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was genuinely one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in over 30 years of travelling and staying in hotels around the world.
The biggest issue was the temperature in the room. It was extremely cold, around 18°C, and completely uncomfortable. When I went to reception to ask whether the heating could be turned on, the staff were dismissive and unhelpful. I was simply told that the heating had been switched off for the season and that nothing could be done. No alternative solution was offered, no portable heater was available, and there was no attempt whatsoever to help a paying guest who was clearly uncomfortable.
I contacted Expedia, who also contacted the hotel on my behalf. Unfortunately, they encountered the same lack of willingness to assist.
To make matters worse, another guest informed me that there was mould growing in her room. For a hotel that claims to be four-star accommodation, this is completely unacceptable.
Based on my experience, this hotel falls far short of the standards I would expect from a four-star property in Vienna. The combination of an uncomfortably cold room, poor customer service, and reports of mould left a very negative impression.
I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to others. It was an extremely disappointing experience and one that I did not expect from a hotel in Austria.
I only chose it as had an AM appointment 8 min walk from the hotel.
