I recently stayed at a&o London Docklands Riverside, and while some aspects were positive, the overall experience fell short.
On the plus side, the room itself was spacious and comfortable. The staff were also a highlight—the receptionist, Victor, was incredibly kind, and the manager on duty during the afternoon of the 21st was highly active and attentive.
Unfortunately, we encountered several frustrating issues during our stay:
Key Card Glitches: We had persistent trouble entering our room, as the key card failed to work on two separate occasions, requiring trips back to desks to get it resolved.
AC and Temperature Control: The air conditioning was completely stuck at 29°C. It couldn't be adjusted, and I eventually had to ask the manager to come and turn it off manually.
Smoke and Ventilation: Because the room was so hot, we had to leave the windows open. However, we later had to shut them to prevent outside smoke from coming into the room, which ultimately left us trapped in a very hot, uncomfortable space.
While I deeply appreciate the hard work of Victor and the manager, the technical and comfort issues made for a frustrating stay. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.
