My stay was extremely disappointing and far below expectations. We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary, yet none of the requests I had made in advance were acknowledged or fulfilled.
After a 20-hour journey, our first night was particularly frustrating. The air conditioning in our room stopped working, and although we were moved, it was to a smaller, non-equivalent room. There was no apology or effort made to address the inconvenience.
To make matters worse, my sister tried to organise a small surprise for us from Australia, but she was incorrectly told that we were not even staying at the hotel. When I raised this with reception, the explanation given was simply that “the staff are new,” which was not reassuring.
My sister attempted again to arrange something, and despite being told it couldn’t be done, a bottle of wine eventually arrived—without any note or acknowledgment.
Overall, this was a very disappointing and poorly handled experience, especially given the significance of our celebration.
