I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. While the location is excellent and the price reflects that, I expected a much higher standard of service.
During the heatwave, the refrigerator in my room was not working, which meant I couldn't even keep water cold. This was incredibly uncomfortable given the extreme temperatures.
As a solo female traveller, the most concerning incident was when a staff member unlocked my room and entered without permission. When I asked why he had come in, he simply said "room service." I tried to explain in English that entering without knocking or waiting for permission was unacceptable, but he continued speaking only in French. The whole situation left me feeling extremely unsafe. In 17 years of solo travelling, I have never experienced anything like this.
To make matters worse, only one of the hotel's three lifts was operational, resulting in extremely long queues and lengthy waits every time I needed to get to or from my room.
It's unfortunate because the hotel has a prime location, but that alone cannot compensate for poor service, inadequate maintenance, and, most importantly, a lack of respect for guests' privacy and safety. I certainly would not stay here again.
