Kyoto-Tofukuji, Shourinji, Shin-Zenkoji Temple Goshuin Walking Tour

Tofukuji Temple
  • Kyoto, Japan's ancient capital, is known for its historic temples, traditional culture, tea ceremonies, ikebana, and kimono craftsmanship
  • Goshuin are stamps from shrines and temples, featuring calligraphy and red seals. Once proof of sutra copying, they now symbolize pilgrimages and travels
  • Hanachozu is a creative twist on shrine purification. It involves fresh flowers arranged in water, which changes with the seasons and festivals, blending nature and art

Good to know

  • Due to the Japanese New Year on January 1st, the itinerary of 1/1-1/3 has been adjusted and will differ from the usual schedule.
  • The tour fees do not include items such as omamori (protective charms) and goshuin (temple or shrine stamps).
  • Goshuin are usually stamped or written in a goshuincho (stamp book), so it's recommended that you purchase one that you like for collecting.
  • Some shrines offer both standard and seasonal goshuin so the designs may vary depending on the time of the visit.
  • We’ll send an email with the tour guide and itinerary details 1-2 days before departure. If you receive multiple emails, refer to the latest one.
  • Transportation, sightseeing, and duration may vary depending on daily conditions. The guide may adjust or remove attractions with your consent in case of special circumstances (e.g. traffic or weather).
