Hyotei Specialty Breakfast Porridge: The Michelin three-star century-old specialty breakfast porridge, served with a mysterious Japanese-style boiled egg and traditional side dishes that the store owner is reluctant to reveal, a soup porridge base that is unique to adults, and a wabi-sabi breakfast in a stunning courtyard that celebrities, politicians, and Gion gentlemen linger on.

Nanzenji Temple: The earliest Zen temple in Japan founded by Emperor Kameyama. In the Kamakura period, the Japanese royal family generally respected Buddhism, and Nanzenji Temple was named the first of the five Buddhist Zen temples in Kyoto by Emperor Go-Daigo. A section of the Lake Biwa Canal is located in Nanzenji Temple. The unique red brick European-style elevated waterway in the Meiji era interspersed the simple and elegant Zen temple, and has long been a frequent location for TV dramas. Climbing up the Sanmen Gate of Nanzenji Temple, you can overlook the scenery of Sakyo from afar, from the courtyard of Nanzenji Temple to the green Higashiyama not far away.

Heian Shrine: The Heian Shrine is particularly grand among the thousands of shrines and temples in the streets and alleys of Kyoto that represent the Japanese philosophy of being concise but refined. It was built in 1895 to commemorate and highlight the achievements of Emperor Kagemu in moving the capital here, and it echoes the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo.

The unique geographical landscape brought by the Lake Biwa Canal: The Lake Biwa Canal is divided into two sections and completed in a total of 27 years. The most beautiful section of the Otsu to Kamogawa section, which is the first canal, is located here. The scenery along the way is a cherry blossom viewing spot that few tourists know about in spring, and as a city walk with lush water and grass, it also has a unique flavor.

In the movie "Lost in Translation", Scarlett Johansson visited the advanced water control project: the Biwa Lake Canal connected to the Zen temples and shrines, visited Nanzenji Temple, which has a deep connection with Emperor Kameyama and Chinese Zen Buddhism, and the grand shrine built to commemorate the milestone achievement of Emperor Tsunemu in moving the capital to Kyoto: Heian Jingu Shrine, accompanied by two elegant art galleries with a large collection. During the tour, you can also experience the unique cultural charm of Kyoto at Tsutaya Bookstore. During this period, you can also savour the 400-year-old Michelin three-star Kaiseki Hyotei specialty breakfast porridge, which has been frequented by dignitaries from ancient times to the present, stroll through the quiet streets of Sakyo, and feel the streetscape that spans a thousand years of history with the Biwa Lake Canal as your companion.
