Upper Mustang, the last forbidden kingdom of Nepal, is a Himalayan deserted area and the oldest trade route to Tibet. The panoramic view of massif Himalayas like Annapurna (8091m/26545ft), Nilgiri (7061m/23166ft), Dhaulagiri (8091m/26545ft), etc makes Mustang one of the very attractive regions for the trekkers, offering enchantment with every step.
Tiji Festival Trek is a fascinating annual three-day festival consisting of Tibetan rituals that commemorate the legend of a son saving the Mustang kingdom from destruction. Initiated by Samdup Rabten during the 17th century, this festival sees kings from various districts gathering in Lo Manthang to partake in special rituals at the Chhode Monastery.
