Courtyard by Marriott Düsseldorf Seestern

Consider this a review of both the Courtyard Marriot Am SeeStern and also the courtyard marriot at the Medienhafen. I had arrived early on my check in day and was informed check in wasnt until later that afternoon. totally fine, i had had a long travel day with otherwise few issues so i explored the area surrounding the Am Seestern location. I cam back exhausted ready to check in around 2:30pm and was only then informed that my room was unavailable due to an issue with the Air Conditioning. It would have been very helpful to be informed of this before I had walked around for 4 hours. I was then given a comped taxi, for which the taxi driver did not receive adequate compensation, to the other location at Medienhafen. The other hotel for my purposes was significantly worse, it was father away from the Hauptbahnhof, had a much worse ride with many stops and a worse train and was much farther away from my intended visiting spots including the Messe for Dokomi 2026. The room was fine, i did not eat at the hotel and while the staff were polite it does seem like there was a lack of introduction for people who may not have stayed at the hotel before. there was basically no orientation or introduction and when i asked the hotel if they had some kind of first aid kit for a cut i had they did not have anything and i was forced to go to the DM in the Hauptbahnhof late at night for antiseptic and gauze. I understand problems occur but it made my stay worse to be moved.

Tired hotel, rooms and communal areas are dated and need updating. Check in took ages and no receipt provided on checkout, even though it was payable upon arrival. Wouldn't rush back as plenty of other hotels in the area

During this trip, the air conditioning in the hotel broke. Rather than fix the problem, the hotel did not bother. Their only solution was to hand out bottles of water occasionally and fans, which did nothing to solve the problem. The room was probably upwards of 90 degrees as the outside temperature was extremely hot during the stay. This made for extremely difficult sleeping and working conditions. There was no real remedy offered and no compensation for extremely poor conditions. I would never stay there again. Otherwise, the hotel was an average property -- not terrible but it wouldn't impress you. The best part of the stay was the breakfast, which was pretty good. The lack of air conditioning and sauna-like conditions, with very little concern from the staff for elderly or heat-sensitive people in the party, made everyone in the group never want to stay there again. 2/10 - do not recommend. (It would be 0/10 except for the breakfast and quiet area.)

Staff rude and not cooperative. Even though diposited city tax, did not endorsed and asking after check out completed.

Checkin and out was a big hassle as they didnt know i'd paid via Expedia

It suited our needs

Really nice place. We were attending a trade show so it was a short ride to the convention Center Messe Dusseldorf, about 20 euros max. Super clean, staff were super friendly. Greeted at the end of each day with free beer and entrees. Nice touch after walking around all day. Restaurant Juliano was really good as well. Only had one meal there but it was delicious and the local beer they served was perfect. Don’t hesitate.

First 2 days the air-conditioning was out during hot weather. On the 3rd day it was fixed and it was smooth sailing. The staff is wonderful!!!!
