The Samoan Outrigger Hotel

Only stayed 2 nights but room was very nice, close to lots of restaurants, easy access to Apia, very nice breakfast.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the place feels very secure and safe. The bathrooms were recently upgraded and very clean and comfortable to use. The location is close to some very nice restaurants and within the compound it feels very peaceful.

Was an easy place to stay. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Staff were excellent at all times. Good eating places in easy walking distance. Breakfast was always something different on each day and had a Samoan flavour which was a nice touch.

Reception very welcoming and friendly. Loved her. Explained everything very well, professional, efficient. Room with ensuite small, very basic but clean. Cold aircon. Patio with table and chairs. Didn't read details properly and was surprised the bed is only double size. Expensive to only have double size bed. Could've booked elsewhere for same price and more comfortable, larger bed and room. Mattress springy/squeaky, not supportive. Water pressure is excellent. But on rainy day there was no hot water. Soap bar provided but no shampoo/conditioner. Guest laundry available but expensive at $40WST per wash/dry. Had the unexpected and very unwelcome experience of hearing the tenants in one of the rooms next to us enjoying adult cuddle time, yuk. So rooms not fully soundproof. Speaking of unwelcome sound, there is a gym across the road with super loud thumping music early morning and afternoon so very hard to rest with the beats coming through to your room. Above ground pool. Nice gardens - lawns and grounds immaculate. Parking space inside gate for 4 cars. Otherwise can park on street or across road. That area does have hotel CCTV surveillance. Very good location. Walking distance to Kokobanana and other restaurants and shops. 5min drive to town and markets. All in all was OK for the two nights we were in Apia but definitely would not stay there again. Too expensive for what you get. Can get better accommodation elsewhere for the price.

Just a one night stay with a day stay which was very helpful. Friendly staff, lovely grounds and a nice pool. Breakfast was included. Good suggestions in the info book. Minor niggles would be some dated/stained towels and floor mats and the loud gym across the road which they obviously could do little about. One could close the door and shut the occasional noise out. I would stay again perhaps in the very nice looking fale's !

I stayed 2 nights at The Samoa Outrigger hotel 29-31 May 2026. I had a bottom floor room it was clean and the staff were so nice and helpful. I like to give special mention to Nele the girl on afternoon to evening shift the two days I was there who was very nice and helpful getting me taxis helping me with the washing machine and dryer so I could do my washing and her smiling welcoming face thank you sis. Breakfast was so good and filling. The wifi wasn’t good though for my room I was in room 11 it only worked when I went and stood in the hall way so maybe another modem for end rooms in the ground floor.

Lovely breakfast

Loved my stay here! Simple, quaint and everything you need for a stay in Samoa.. Only issue, would be wifi is a little on the slow side, but I feel this is common all over Samoa. :)

The kitchen was excellent. The breakfasts were varied and satisfying and well cooked and presented.
