The Smokehouse retains its old world charm. The staff are wonderful, the rooms original and the gardens lovely. Expect old fashioned as that’s the whole point! Easy walk or 5 minute taxi to the local town, 300m to night markets and an easy walk to the nearest village. We walked to the hiking trails and golf course.

Chose Smokehouse because of its British charm, which it has in abundance. Sadly the hotel is little lacking in quality, more of an issue when paying a premium. The service was just ok. Polite team but no real enthusiasm to go the extra mile, despite encouraging words. Their saving grace is the food, especially the roasts and English Breakfast, which were excellent. Give the hotel some TLC and it could be worth the premium rate.

The Smokehouse is charming and the grounds are gorgeous. Even though the hotel shows the stress of time, it is still a wonderful place to stay.

The property and furnishings are so tasteful. The staff was extremely attentive. The breakfast and tea were delicious.
