It’s super clean, staff is very friendly and helpful and the overall ambience is like a palace. The restaurant food menu should have more Nepali options including Buff and pork dishes since the hotel is perfect to experience Nepali architecture but food is too western

Staff and breakfast are exceptional. Location is FANTASTIC. I could walk to Thamel for shopping and food, Palace museum is walking distance (highly recommend visiting) as well as Garden of Dreams. The room was ok, no view.

Everything at Hotel Shanker is truly great. I really feel at home in this beautiful hotel. The staff are magnificent and everyone is so friendly and helpful. The architecture of this old historical palace is stunning. The entrance and lobby is so beautiful and great for photos. The garden in front is wonderful and the pool is terrific. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Shanker. It’s the only place I stay when visiting Kathmandu. I’m already looking forward to a return visit!! Thank you Hotel Shanker for treating me so well and giving me such great memories and photos!!
