Puffing Billy ja Healesville Sanctuary -päiväretki

Tämä Melbournen-matkan odotetuin ohjelma oli todellakin unohtumaton. Odotimme pikkubussia Regent Theatressa jo klo 8.25. Onneksi sain sähköpostitse ilmoituksen, että bussi olisi violetti ja mukana olisi opas. Alan oli erittäin ystävällinen, lempeä ja humoristinen, ja hänen palvelunsa oli huomaavaista. Hän oli todella mukava ja sai meidät lähes 20 hengen ryhmän viihtymään erinomaisesti. Kaikki ohjelman kohteet käytiin läpi, joskin eri järjestyksessä. Huhtikuun puolivälissä sää oli aurinkoinen ja lämpötila miellyttävä, ja junamatkalla puhalsi viileä tuuli. Aamulla menimme ensin eläintarhaan, jossa näimme söpöjä koaloja 🐨 ja australialaisia kenguruita 🦘. Sen jälkeen pysähdyimme metsäpolulla hengittämään raikasta ilmaa ja ihailemaan jättiläispuita. Siellä oli myös vessa, ja pysähdys kesti noin 15 minuuttia. Iltapäivällä klo 14.00 nousimme höyryjunaan noin tunnin ajaksi. Maisemat matkan varrella olivat kauniit ja virkistävät. Koko retki päättyi noin klo 16.00, ja palasimme bussilla kaupunkiin. Oli hienoa tavata ystäviä eri maista. Suosittelen tätä retkeä lämpimästi! 👍

Noutopaikka oli kätevästi keskustassa, lähellä hotelliani. Kuljettajamme Margaret ExploreAustraliasta oli mahtava, erittäin viihdyttävä ja asiantunteva alueesta ja kohteista. Pidän Puffing Billy -junamatkasta ja sitten villieläinalueesta. Tekisin sen uudelleen seuraavalla vierailullani.

well organized trip, Darren pulled us to a cabin stop for coffee prior to puffing Billy. you can either shop for souvenirs, get a coffee or enjoy a walk in the woods. He took care of us well and planned out the trip well. the train right was refreshing and the trip to the sanctuary was great, saw many koalas and a bird show, all in a pristine natural environment.

Our driver and guide was amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and full of insights about Melbourne. The Puffing Billy Railway was a true highlight, offering breathtaking views as we rode through lush forests. The sanctuary was beautiful too, with up-close encounters with Australia’s unique wildlife. Highly recommend this tour for a perfect blend of nature and fun! 🌿🚂✨

good! pick up was well organised. both attractions were enjoyable and highly recommended! booking this tour with explore Australia was a good way to get to the attractions in the most convenient manner :)

after you book from Klook, the tour company will email you. on the day itself, LOOK out for the bus with the same company logo on it! don’t board the WRONG one! overall was good. more than enough time to explore and not rushy! The place where you get to see animals was awesome! same as Perth zoo if you been there! :) have a great trip!

Many thanks to Darren for being such a knowledgeable guide for this 1 Day trip! Despite the short day, he is able to provide the key pointers to maximise our time during our visit to these places of interest.

Our guide, Mark is a excellent lead and driver. The tour started on time and ended well. The arrangement was great as we had plenty of activities yet sufficient rest throughout. He also volunteered to take nice pictures for us too. Highly recommend and well done, Mark!

great experience despite hiccups and bad weather, raining pretty much all day. Our guide Gina tried her best to manage the schedule, which means skipped some activities in the program which is fine considering the conditions, and make us happy, taking care and taking photos. This is my first time going with a big group of 24 people, but it went well. everyone was on time, etc. Puffing Billy was amazing! make sure you get the platform side (right side of the train). Healsville Sanctuary is better than my expectation. even though it’s not my first time seeing local animals, but here they look better than in a zoo (bigger, easier to spot). surprisingly I enjoy the aviary part which I never like before, both walking with parrots and cockatoos flying around, and Spirit of the Sky show. The boring rainy day can’t get better. Thanks to Gina and Exploreaustralia.
