Chiang Mai: Wat Phra That Doi Suthep & Wat Pha Lati -iltakierros

Wat Pha Lat is the most serene jungle temple, the fact that the plants have been allowed to encroach on the structures only adds to the sense of gentle decay. Even though an overcast sky meant the usual glorious late afternoon light was absent, arriving at the temple as dusk approached only made it more atmospheric. The gilded stupa and umbrellas of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep were impressive from the outset, but it was only when dusk fell and the lights were turned on that it became evident why we were there at that particular time. Magical! The view over the city is spectacular as well, both before and after dark. Our guide Danny was personable, friendly and informative, and gave us time to wander at will, and our driver got us from place to place quickly and efficiently. Minor criticisms are that as a solo traveller, I needed to book and pay for two people; also it was not clear from the activity description that a hotel pickup was possible, rather than meeting at the tour office.

I wanted to visit both Doi Suthep and Wat Pha Lat, and this tour package was perfect. From the meeting point to the drop-off in Old Town, everything was smooth. Thanks to the 'Tom and Jerry' duo, the trip was effortless and fun. The guide, Tom, was kind and shared interesting stories, making the tour even more enjoyable. ​The timing was spot on—visiting Wat Pha Lat just before sunset and staying at Doi Suthep from dusk until night allowed us to enjoy the scenery to the fullest. Highly recommended!

This is a great tour and highly recommend. From the first friendly greeting from our guide at the meet point, we felt welcome. We were driven to the temples in a comfortable van with our guide explaining the outline of the evening. When we arrived at the temples, he explained their history in excellent English. We would have missed much of their meaning if we had been on our own. We engaged in some activities which were fun and really made the trip special. If you are thinking of a tour of these mountain temples, choose this one.

We had a wonderful experience with this tour. Our guide was Danny who explained the history very Nicely. Helped us with photography as well. Both the Temples were so beautiful. it was worth it and more.

Se oli erinomainen kokemus. Oppaamme Tom selitti meille buddhalaisuuden perusteet. Wat Pha Lat oli suljettu meditaation vuoksi, joten vierailimme Wat Umongissa.

아주좋았어요 가이드님이 설명도 열심히 해주셨어요 예약한 사람이 저혼자뿐이라 큰차타고 혼자가서 죄송하고 감사했어요 이제 가이드일하신지 3달정도 되셨다고 했는데 이름이기억않나요 내려오는길이 약간 험하고 안개가껴서 약간 무서웠어요 끝나서는호텔근처시장에서 내려주셨어요

Olen tavannut kymmeniä matkaoppaita eri maissa Klookin, My＊＊＊＊:n ja muiden kautta, mutta kukaan ei ole selittänyt asioita yhtä intohimoisesti ja hyvin kuin Art. Olen ollut Chiang Maissa kaksi viikkoa, enkä ollut kuullut mitään Thaimaan temppeleistä tai Myanmarin historiasta, mutta tällä kierroksella Art selitti Thaimaan historiaa ja buddhalaisuutta niin hyvin, että ymmärsin asiat. Artin opastuksesta on varmasti paljon apua tulevilla Thaimaan matkoillani. Hän otti myös ahkerasti kuvia, ja lyhyestä englannistani huolimatta kommunikointi oli helppoa, koska hän kuunteli tarkkaavaisesti. Jos olisi toinenkin kierros, haluaisin tavata hänet uudelleen. Suosittelen lämpimästi!

Great experience as this tour tries to avoid the really busy periods of the day. You get rewarding views of the sunset and the city lights. Guide also helped us understand the chanting ceremony taking place during our visit.

다 좋은데 완전히 어두워지기 전에 일정이 끝나는게 아쉽네요 30분정도만 뒤에 끝나도 완벽할거같아요

Wir hatten Phonphon als unseren Tourguide, der sich alle Mühe gegeben hat, dass es allen gut geht. Er hat uns tolle Blickwinkel gezeigt, und war jederzeit zur Stelle, um Fotos mit uns zu machen oder etwas zur Geschichte der Tempel zu erklären. Unsere Reisegruppe war mit 6 Persone zufällig recht klein, so dass natürlich mehr Zeit für jeden individuell blieb. Die Tour selber startete pünktlich, alles wirkte professionell und wir hatten einen tollen Nachmittag.
