We went to day 5 of the September 2026 tournament. Our guide Harumi was WONDERFUL! She gave us all the explanations we needed and got us excited for a show and sport we knew very little about coming in. It might not be clear from the description but the guide sticks around with the group for the whole tournament and will point out interesting points and particular customs or unique wrestlers. At one point I had a complicated question about one of the customs and she ran off to check the details and come back with a complete answer! I appreciated the dedication, she went truly above and beyond. I also recommend running around the stadium and seeing the side attractions, the Chanko stew in the basement especially was a highlight, delicious and very affordable at 500 yen a bowl. in conclusion, if you're in tokyo during a sumo tournament - don't miss it!!! I do recommend bringing binoculars though, I regret not bringing some.

What an amazing experience. Emi was charming, funny and informative and obviously has a real passion for sumo. we loved every moment. It was the highlight of our trip to Japan. If you get the chance, do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Jos olet onnekas saamaan hänet oppaaksesi, hän selitti sumopainin historiaa, sen toimintaa, perinteitä, hauskoja faktoja ja tarjosi jopa upeita visuaalisia apuvälineitä ymmärtääksemme, mitä katsoimme. Hän nosti kokemuksen tasolle, jossa nautimme esityksestä täysin rinnoin, itse paikasta, ja meidät ohjattiin parhaisiin matkamuistomyymälöihin. Olimme onnekkaita saadessamme olla osa pientä ryhmää. S-luokan paikat ovat ehdottomasti parhaat! Paras näkymä talosta upeiden herkkujen kera!

Oppaamme oli erittäin asiantunteva, uskoakseni hänen nimensä oli rouva Yuki. Hän oli todella intohimoinen sumoa kohtaan, joten kaikki tieto ja energia, jonka saimme häneltä, tekivät kokemuksesta upean… Suosittelen tätä lämpimästi, koska se on hyvin perinteistä, japanilaiset todella rakastavat sitä ja se on jotain todella hienoa. Olen nähnyt muay thai -otteluita ja nyrkkeilyotteluita, ja sumo ei todellakaan jää jälkeen, se on todella mahtavaa!

Uskomaton kokemus! Yritin ostaa liput suoraan viralliselta sivustolta, mutta en onnistunut. Ostin heti Klookin kautta ja onneksi! Järjestely oli täydellinen, oppaamme oli mahtava, erittäin ystävällinen ja opettavainen, puhuen erittäin ymmärrettävää englantia. Olimme toisessa kerroksessa (2F) ja näimme sieltä erittäin hyvin! Älä epäröi hetkeäkään, jos näet paikkoja toisessa kerroksessa riviltä S tai A, osta ne, et tule katumaan!!!

we had a knowledgeable and fun guide, plus the Basho was exciting to watch. The event sold chanko for 500 yen and there was merch to buy inside the venue to cheer on your favorite rikishi. If you are already a sumo fan the lecture isn’t really necessary, but this is still the easiest way to get tickets. I just wish we could attend the entire event to see the lower divisions as well.

This by far was my favorite experience in Tokyo! So much fun!! Tour guide was very knowledgable and gave great history and background of sumo. Our seats were great and we were able to see every match perfectly. I highly recommend this tour!!

Our guide, Kaoru, she explained about sumo clearly. She guided us the important information about sumo’s history, rules, and watching. It was such a wonderful experience watching sumo.

We had a fantastic time at the Sumo Grand Tournament. We were unable to secure tickets via the official website because they sold out so fast and were skeptical about paying for this tour initially as it was four times the price of the tickets alone, however, we are delighted that we paid for it and we would definitely do this tour again if we returned to Tokyo during a Sumo tournament. Our guide, Miko, was fantastic - her English was excellent, she was friendly, professional and incredibly knowledgeable about sumo. Miko’s knowledge and excitement for the tournament was brilliant and it made us much more knowledgeable and excited too. If you plan on doing this tour, consider booking a local restaurant for Chanko-nabe (the hot pot the sumo wrestlers eat) well in advance because they were all fully booked and sadly we were unable to secure a spot! You can buy Chanko-nabe at the stadium though during the matches but it’s only available until 4pm (your guide will explain this).

導遊Kumi小姐非常熱情，講解很多相撲知識，我用英語和日語跟她聊了不少相撲比賽相關的內容。集合地點是在Ryogoku View Hotel，大概20分鐘的時間會在那裡拿到英文版的手冊、當日相撲比賽的對戰組合和入場門票等資料，並聽完導遊的講解後才會前往國技館。由於我小時候就有在NHK看過相撲比賽轉播，前幾年開始聽日本朋友推薦在Abema TV觀看比賽轉播，這是我第一次能夠踏進國技館看相撲比賽，能夠在現場看比賽，這種興奮感遠比看轉播還要好，很慶幸自己在Klook買到2樓A席座位，視野很好，下次有機會一定會再來觀戰。
