installed my Japan eSIM, but it says "No Service," "No Signal," or "Activation Failed." What should I do?
Don't worry, this is normal! Your eSIM is designed to only connect once you actually arrive in Japan.
Before your tip: save your battery by turning off your eSIM until you arrive at your destination.
- Go to your phone's Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data).
- Tap on your eSIM.
- Toggle off Turn On This Line.
Upon arrival at your destination: activate your eSIM.
- Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) and turn your eSIM back on.
- Go to Cellular Data and select your eSIM.
- Turn on Data Roaming for your eSIM.
- Wait 2 to 5 minutes for it to connect to the local network.
Note: To avoid unexpected roaming charges from your home provider, make sure "Allow Cellular Data Switching" is turned off in your settings.
