Surprisingly good experience when I traveled to Indonesia. The tour guide,Angel is a sweetheart. She gave us good advice on this trip, also hang out with us,no awkward moment. 😜😜😜
Her Chinese is well that she can communicate with us. Because I was worried about the misunderstanding between us. We also learn the culture difference between Taiwan and Indonesia. I think I would recommend my friends to join this tour if they wanna visit Indonesia after COVID-19. Nice memories when I saw these pictures.
Our tour guide was very friendly, and arrived relatively on time for the tour, given that we are catching the sun rise and have to leave the hotel at 12am. He shared with us the story of mount bromo, and when we reached there, he took care of our well-being and safety. Will recommend others to go for this tour! the sights are scenic and breath taking.
The guide picked us up around 11.30pm the night before and we reach the base around 2am. After that, we took a jeep for about 1 hr to Mount Bromo. The road has lots of curve and I almost vomited when I was in the jeep. Luckily, we arrived before it happened. We arrived at the mountain around 3am and was waiting till 4.30am for seeing the sunrise. The weather was so cold but the scenery is very beautiful. The highlight of the trip was when we rode the horse to climb Bromo itself. The view before the crater is so impressive and more beautiful compared to Tangkuban Prahu in Bandung.
Our tour guide Elvera was so helpful during the trip. The sunrise tour for Mount Bromo is amazing and really worth the money! It is really a once in a lifetime experience and the view from the KingKong island was amazing! After we are done with the Bromo experience, we head to Madakaripura waterfall, the experience seems very ethereal. It feels like I am in the Lord of the Rings movie! Pak Ali, our tour guide was awesome and amazing! He took care of us and took a lot of photos and videos for us! His videography skills are amazing! In a nutshell, we really enjoyed the journey and adventure!
Ana arrived promptly at our hotel with the driver and gave us a warm welcome. She was willing to answer questions throughout our tour, was knowledgeable about the places we visited and looked after us well. The journey to Mount Bromo was safe and smooth where we were met by the jeep driver who did a good job on the dark and windy roads to the viewing area. Ana ensured we had somewhere to sit and a drink whilst we waited for the sunrise. It was a little cloudy the morning we went but that didn’t spoil our enjoyment. Ana made sure we got to a place from where the view was amazing. Afterwards we drove to the salt plain to walk to the crater of Mount Bromo.
This was followed by a photo stop with the jeep and Mount Bromo in the background, then breakfast at a local restaurant. We had an excellent choice of lovely food. Do follow Mount Bromo with a trip to the waterfall, an experience not to be missed. We were accompanied by an excellent guide who took some wonderful pictures for us. After our midnight start we slept on the journey back to the hotel.
We thoroughly recommend this tour, it was the highlight of our stay in Surabaya. We booked online which was easily done and our tour was excellent value for money.
Our tour guide, Gindo, is fluent in both Chinese and English, so he can understand my elderly parents as well! The tour will start at 1130pm for pickup at hotel, thereafter will transfer to a jeep to the sunrise point. Our kids and adults dealt well with the jeep ride, my mom was a little on the edge but got used to it soon. Bring jacket as it will be chilly. After the sunrise, we headed to Mount Bromo, we opted for the horse ride as there are kids. It's safer if the younger kids are in the baby/toddler carriers so rembr to bring if you have. My elderly dad handled the horse ride gamely, he said it was fun! My mom opted out as she is terrified of heights. Kids are of course delighted. Our youngest one at 1 year old enjoyed the scenery while in my carrier, not much fuss when on the horse, but cranky when we came down. I guess little ones like the rocking feeling while on the horse. After that we headed to the waterfall. Be prepared to get wet even with the ponchos. But first there will be a motorbike ride to the waterfall followed by around 20minutes trek. It's a little tiring but kids and my parents r still able to handle it. The waterfall is not very strong as it hasn't been raining much but our toddler loved it and went all the way into the waterfall with daddy. Baby and I just went half way. Overall it's a good tour and new experiences for everyone!
