Mosaic Music Series: Chris Botti | Concert Information

GRAMMY award-winning trumpeter Chris Botti needs no introduction. Initially trained in post-bop improvisation and classical technique, the trumpeter and composer’s lyrical sound is a sophisticated blend of jazz and pop—one that led him to become one of his generation’s most successful crossover artists. Over his decades-long career, he has collaborated and performed with the likes of Sting, Paul Simon, Barbra Streisand, Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett and numerous other acclaimed artists, performed in prestigious venues around the world and released numerous chart-topping albums such as When I Fall In Love (2004) and Impressions (2012).

With his latest record, 2023’s Vol. 1, one could say that Botti returned to his roots. Released through American jazz institution Blue Note Records and produced by the legendary David Foster, the album is focused on acoustic jazz and classic standards, with beloved favourites like Danny Boy and Time On My Hands rendered through Botti’s glowing tone and melodicism. Taking inspiration from greats past and present like Miles Davis, Pat Metheny and Brad Mehldau, the album represents Botti’s continued enthusiasm and deep love for jazz, one that he shares with audiences around the world, both on record and on stage.

Having last performed at the Esplanade Concert Hall in 2018, Botti returns to Singapore to fill the Esplanade Theatre with his clarion yet expressive sound, accompanied by his long-time backing band.
