Live Nation Singapore is thrilled to announce that the renowned Taiwanese singer-songwriter Wan Fang will be holding her “Sunshine ON” tour in Singapore on 23 March 2024 at The Theatre at Mediacorp. This marks Wan Fang’s second solo show in Singapore after 13 years!
Wan Fang is known as the “Soulful Diva” for her many classic songs in the 1990s, especially “New Everlasting Love”, which is a household name in the Mandopop world. Her early works are known for their gentle yet powerful sound and touching lyrics, while her recent work has showcased her humanistic qualities and songwriting talent. She has crossed over into many different areas of the entertainment industry, from music to radio, stage plays, television, and film. She has won numerous awards, including the Golden Bell Award for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, and has been nominated for the Golden Melody Award for Best Female Singer several times. In 2020, she released her 30th-anniversary album “Dear All”, which was nominated for seven Golden Melody Awards, and she won the Jury Award. In 2023, she starred in the film “May Snow” directed by Chong Keat Aun, which was selected for the 80th Venice Film Festival Film Art Award and was nominated for nine Golden Horse Awards. She was also nominated for the Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Film Song at the Golden Horse Awards. In addition, it was recently announced that she’s been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress at the 2024 Asian Film Awards.
Although Wan Fang has often performed at the Taipei Arena, which seats tens of thousands of people, she still prefers to share her stories and music in an intimate setting. In July 2023, she kicked off her latest tour, “Sunshine ON”, starting in the eastern part of Taiwan. She has already visited three cities and received a lot of positive feedback.
The theme of the tour this time round is “Light”, and it opens with the statement, “Every crack in life is an entrance to light.” It will feature a series of familiar classic songs, such as “Eternal Love Like Ocean”, “I Remember the Dependence Revealed by Your Eyes”, “Guess What's in My Mind”, “Give Up You to Her”, “It’s Worth Loving”, “Not Long Ago”, “Try to Understand It”, “Vancouver Sadness No. 1”, and “New Everlasting Love”. It will also feature recent works that are close to life, such as “Night Illuminates the Night”, “First Day of Michelle”, “A Vacant Seat”, “Love Yourself,” “Not Always That Brave”, and “Shape of You”. Whether they are Wan Fang’s early or recent works, may these songs shine like the sun on our past, present, and future selves.
