About the event
Who Says It First is Nam Hwa Opera’s first foray into a “modern Mandopop musical with Teochew opera elements”.
With a mission to promote an appreciation of Chinese dialects and Chinese cultural identities, this “modern Mandopop musical with Teochew opera elements" is set against an atmosphere of an instantly relatable modern Singaporean nuclear family.
In the story, the modern and the traditional meet and collide with joyful, and devastating outcomes. An ageing Singaporean society is also explored through the lens of dementia.
This programme is part of Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre’s Cultural Extravaganza 2023. For more information, please visit https://ce.singaporeccc.org.sg/
