The Rit Xu Group presents PANA FUERTE at The Jazz Loft | Live Music Information

Singapore's own jazz flute virtuoso and his group present us with PANA FUERTE: The Music of Dave Valentin and the GRP All-Stars.

As a tribute to one of his musical idols/mentors, the late Dave Valentin, Rit Xu and his group invite us to an exploration of the music associated with the great Latin Jazz flautist.

In Rit's own words:

"The late flautist Dave Valentin holds a special place in my heart. I grew up listening to his music on a daily basis—both at home and during car rides with my dad who was also a huge fan. All of his earlier albums had a major impact on me, such as “Legends”, “The Hawk”, “Land of the Third Eye” and many others. Dave Valentin plays the flute like a percussionist on fire—coupled with a beautiful tone which was very rare for those days. I’m excited to present some of his most popular tunes, and am grateful to do so with my musical Pana Fuertes: Yap Ting Wei on drums, Sebastian Ho on guitar, Keith Ong on bass and Joshua Wan on piano/keyboard.
