Generating / Iterating | Exhibition Introduction

Presented by TheUpsideSpace for Singapore Art Week, this exhibition explores authorship and authenticity in the age of AI through works from artists who utilise AI as part of their iterative process and as narrative-building tools without ceding agency over to pre-trained models.

Following the release of text-to-image models such as DALL-E 2 and Midjourney this summer, many discussions surrounding authorship and authenticity in the age of AI have resurfaced. The exhibition responds to these rising concerns by bringing artists who utilise AI as part of their iterative process and as narrative building tools, collaborating with AI without resigning agency over to the pre-trained models.

Artists: Rimbawan Gerilya (ID), Jo Ho (SG), Billie Sng (SG), Ninaad Kothawade (IND), and Chong Yan Chuah (MY).

Curator: Clara Peh (Singapore) - the Curator for Art Dubai 2023 Digital section and Founder of NFT Asia, the largest digital-native artist collective in the Web 3.0 ecosystem.
