In 1920, Stravinsky wrote the Symphonies of Wind Instruments, a contemplative essay for two dozen wind instruments from flute to tuba, as a tribute to Debussy.

This fascinating programme shifts to high gear with fast-rising Chinese violinist marvel He Ziyu in Stravinsky’s fascinating Violin Concerto, before the Singapore Symphony Orchestra surfs the waves with its signature piece on record, Debussy’s evocation of the sea, La Mer.
