Pathetic experience. Never booking again

The biggest issue was at check-in time there was no clear information on where to park our car while checking in and then our room wasn't the one that was booked.

It’s what you get for $400US/night in Banff… small room in an old building. No AC on an uncommonly hot day but the night was cool so at least we could open the windows. Finding the parking was a bit difficult, but at least we had a spot. We stayed 1 night then moved on to Golden.

honestly we will never stay here again. We got married saturday, decided to have a nice stay in Banff Monday. We show up and it’s under construction - with absolutely no warning. we get to our room and the window is broken and screen is off, the toilet has hair and toilet paper in it. go down to the front desk, and the lady immediately was asking if we were checking out. I was quite disappointed that was her first response. We had no other option to stay elsewhere as we travellers to be here. She gives us a new room, for the same price, just has a couch and bigger bed. We also go back later as they kept my ID, no one is at the front - we and another couple called over 8 times and no answer. Go up to our room and she was asking if we were the ones who kept calling?? We heard her phone ring when we called it, she was ignoring our calls. Power was out all of banff (not their fault), and due to construction we couldn’t get out a building easily (safety concern) so the restaurant had to take us out through the kitchen, and through the alley. We will never stay here, staff was not friendly, not willing to help, and the rooms were not clean. considering we paid $500 for a room, what a waste.

I don’t like the bed it’s to old I think need to change on it

The room was HOT on a day when the weather wasn't very warm. There was a large openable window but there was no screen and it opened onto the roof of the next building which was a security concern so we couldn't keep it open. Beware parking, the listed spots were taken so we ended up having to pay $72 for our one-day stay.

Washroom

It's a budget hotel with a great location. Don't expect amything fancy or even well maintained. The staff were very kind and helpful. The building is old and the walls are very thin. The sheets and towels are not high quality but are sufficient. The mattress was alright but it was old and a little lumpy. The bathroom is functional but nothing fancy. However, the location was exceptionally convenient and it was a decent place to staff right in downtown. It's not worth the cost in any other place but for Banff, it's in line with the prices elsewhere. I wouldn't stay there again because paying an extra 100 to 150 per stay would be worth it for a better maintained hotel. It does have a certain charm for being old and rundown as well as a historic hotel. The staff were exceptionally kind and let us check in much sooner than usual (12 pm) which helped us out a lot. Everything was clean but it did get very warm in the room and the TV did not work. Choose your own adventure.

Room was basic and clean but dated. Terrific to be central but found it noisy from rowdy crowds outside. Staff were responsive to requests for towels but rooms not routinely cleaned each day. Free parking a perk!

There was no A/C until I paid for the room then they sent a message and told me then I was not able to cancel Historical or not they need to update this hotel to keep up with the rest for the price point they charge I would not come here in the summer unless you enjoy coming to a sauna room Was no parking except a 15 minute walk away No unloading and loading at the hotel due to construction We were charged 100.00 pet charge for a one night stay when other hotel in Banff charge at most 30.00 and that was not on the site we did not know that till I got there The staff which only consisted of 2 were pleasant but seemed to have to do cleaning and check in and check out and the language barrier was a little different as we understand ppl come from all different countries to work in Banff but more instructions would have been helpful This is not our first time in Banff but it will be our last time at this hotel and we would definitely not recommend it to anyone at this point Way overpriced for what other hotels charge and the pet charge way over priced If this hotel is not going to renovate charge way less as it can not stand up to the rest of the hotels in Banff or even in Canmore
