The staff were great and friendly, food was really good, especially the breakfast. The bedroom was really comfortable and the bed, pillows etc excellent. Stair carpets are tired and stained which gives a negative impression, could be rectified at not too much cost. Loved the atmosphere, would stay again

Yes the room was ok , the television wasn't working altough the manager let me watch the tv in the room next door as it was unoccupied also I couldnt lock the door from the outside

Everything was fine, friendly and helpful staff, tasty breakfast, clean and comfortable room, free parking and a fair price. I would recommend and stay there again.

The room could have done with more thorough cleaning, particularly the bathroom. The toilet was disgusting.

The food from the bar in the evening was excellent.

Food service was slow. I booked breakfast on the evening of arrival but wasn't communicated to breakfast staff

Check in was a bit clunky but my room was clean and comfortable. I was initially told the only dining option was a barbeque then informed there was a limited menu available. Had a steak which was fine. Breakfast was tasty and spot on time.

In late August 2025 I stayed at this hotel with my family, it is bed bug infested! Over the 4 nights we awoke every morning with new painful bites, which increasingly we found very odd as we didn't see any mosquitos. However, the last night of our stay revealed the truth as I awoke in the middle of the night at around 230am to find a bed bug on my body! I quickly looked in the bed and found 2 more live bed bugs. Later in the bed sheets I found two shedded bed bug bodies, which is how they grow. Of course I was not able to sleep anymore that night resulting in an exhausting next day full of stress and anxiety as I had to check my family throughout the night to make sure they were not covered in bed bugs. My wife and I now have over 200 bites each on our bodies, including on the face and head, We are constantly uncomfortable as these bites are very painful and itchy and disfiguring. These are all signs that there is a major infestation in that room and perhaps in other rooms as well. We spent a great deal of time cleaning our things that were in that room and making sure we do not bring this infestation to our home. We are having to wash everything at high temperature, including clothes, blankets and toys, etc. We have taken other precautions that are time consuming, expensive and inconvenient. It is impossible to be sure that they do not contain bed bugs or eggs. I emailed the pub/hotel 4 times with no response, they do not care. Don't let this be you! Avoid!

The fish and chips I had for the evening meal came with very cold/still frozen peas, so that had to go back, then I had to ask for a discount for the poorly prepared meal. The bed in the single room has a very uncomfortable and extremely soft mattress. Breakfast was good, with plenty on offer on the Full English.
