To access the registration desk you must climb 2 steep spiral flights of stairs with your luggage. Then once we got to the registration desk we had to climb another flight up another narrow, steep spiral flight of stairs with our luggage to get to the room. So if you have any physical impairments you should know there is no elevator.
The room had no AC. During our visit there was a heat wave and it was miserable. Opening the windows was the only option for air movement and the street noise was so loud. These factors made it very difficult to sleep.
We checked in late due to severe train issues along the way and the front desk person was not real helpful. The sheets seemed dirty with several strains of hair present. The room was in need of some repairs.
We decided to check out early and find a nicer room. As we were leaving the manager asked why we were leaving early (she denied our request for a refund for the night we chose to leave early. We booked through booking who told us it was up to property manager. Disappointed of course but what was more upsetting was the argumentative attitude of the manager to every complaint (she asked us to list we were not going to complain) when we gave up trying to continue the “conversation” she followed my teenage son out of the office to continue to badger him. As a mom I was very upset about that. Not happy with this establishment or our stay or how we were tea when we chose to leave early.

You get what you pay for. Staff was friendly, room was clean and the bed was ok. No elevator and the stairs are steep. This is not a fancy place, but if you plan to only sleep there its perfectly fine. Good value for money. Good location.

Por debajo del promedio The location was excellent and much of the reason that we booked this hotel. The disadvantages were - no air conditioning or fan provided despite the 40°C heat wave, the room was only moderately clean with many stains noted on the bedding and around the room, and THE STAIRS. Having to lug suitcases up/down the tremendous amount of stairs made the stay significantly more inconvenient. We also read some previous reviews regarding bed bugs which added some additional paranoia to the stay. I would not recommend staying here for more than one night.

The hotel is perfectly located, within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions. The room was lovely, clean, and comfortable- only minor drawback was the wet room, but it didn’t affect our stay. As well as this, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We had a very pleasant experience and would happily stay here again!

Fantastic location in the heart of Amsterdam! It's a decent place for a shorter stay, with basic amenities. The hotel is located on the upper floors of a classic Amsterdam building, which gives the interior a bit of a rustic look. Travellers should be aware that due to its central location and age of the building, the stairs are steep and there is no lift, the windows are very pretty but single-glazed, and there is no air conditioning. So it might get noisy at night and quite warm in summer, especially if you are on the top floor. It's (relatively) cheap and cheerful, and we have not had any issues during our stay.
So in a nutshell, it's an affordable, well-located option if you are able and willing to climb a few stairs and don't need much in the way of luxury. It's a 3-minute walk from a tram hub and about a 15-minute walk from the main station.

Had a wonderful stay here and the staff were great. The lady from Birmingham was so helpful.
Windows are a bit thin and the room could be a bit loud with the street below sometimes, but a minor problem.
Would definitely stay here again.

Por debajo del promedio Good location. Run down and dingy. Walls rather thin, could hear the man next door snoring all night. However, we could deal with all that. The issue was BED BUGS. We had a slightly delayed reaction but the day after our stay we were covered in bites. On a closer look at previous reviews searching for bed bugs- we are definitely no the first. Let’s just hope we didn’t take any home with us. As we had a delayed response it meant we didn’t take precautions with luggage. You live and learn.
