Great location, lovely place!

Excellent location, best that I have found. Rooms and excellent, this is a must stay. Staff were very friendly and gave great suggestions for landmarks and restaurants.

Good location near the castle and uni, yet far enough away from the main streets. Clean and quiet.

Room was beautiful, with the original ceiling so unexpected and gorgeous. Awesome bathroom. Wish we had stayed more than one night!

Very helpful and attentive staff. Room was spacious but very warm. Had to open the window. Bathroom has a heater under the vanity that we couldn’t shut off so we just kept the door closed. All in all, great place and 2 minute walk to the Hauptstrasse.

We had a pleasant but ultimately mixed stay at Arthotel Heidelberg. While the superb central location in the Old Town was the major highlight, making the Christmas markets and main sights easily walkable, and the room itself was spacious, well-furnished, and very clean with excellent Wi-Fi, the service and amenities did not consistently meet expected 4-star standards. For example, while the bed was comfortable and slippers were provided, the room was cold (thermostat capped at 24∘C), and there was only small pillow per person provided initially. We appreciated the hotel staff's quick response when we requested extra blankets and pillows, which helped a lot for the rest of our stay. The largest shortfall was the lack of essential daily service and amenities, especially considering the hotel's premium positioning. The complimentary bottled water was only provided on the first night and never replenished, and the extremely small toiletries were insufficient for two people over four nights and were also not restocked daily. Furthermore, standard 4-star features like a minibar/fridge were missing, and damp towels were not replaced daily when they could not adequately dry in the cold room. We paid for the full 4-star experience, expecting proactive attention to detail, but found the daily service to be basic and lacking. Ultimately, we loved the location and the room's quality, but the service needs significant improvement to truly earn its star rating.
