The hotel is in a reasonably convenient location for the airport, which was the main reason for choosing it. However, the property clearly requires some renovation. I understand that refurbishment involves significant costs, but cleanliness is a different matter and should always be a priority.
Unfortunately, the bathroom was not clean. Finding a toilet seat that had clearly been splashed with urine was unacceptable, and there is really no excuse for this.
The shower was another problem. There was no proper seal, and the gap between the glass screen and the bathtub meant that water poured onto the bathroom floor. This is not only inconvenient but also raises a genuine Health & Safety concern, as the floor became very wet and slippery. Because the room, and especially the bathroom, left a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness, I decided not to eat at the hotel. On the positive side, the reception staff were very friendly, polite and helpful, and I appreciated their attitude.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the housekeeping team. One member of housekeeping entered our room without knocking, which I found very inappropriate. We were then approached twice and seemingly encouraged to leave early, despite the fact that there was still almost an hour before the official check-out time.
What disappointed me most was that, after I pointed this out, there was not even an apology from the housekeeping staff member.
