We have stayed at Gurney Bay Hotel, at least four times. Each time, I can recognize the helpful and extremely friendly staff. From the receptionist, the porter, the cleaner, the wait staff, everyone was incredibly kind and attentive.
The one aspect I was a bit disappointed was that Gurney Bay no longer offered massage services on the 2nd floor of the premises. I assume it due to lack of interests. But it's a minor issue.
Even though it's quite an 'old' hotel, established in 1997, it is so well maintained, with clean carpets, beds, and bathrooms. You can see the amazing history in the hotel.
I genuinely hope the hotel continues to operate for another 30years a more. We will definitely be back to Gurney Bay Hotel on our next visit to Penang
