Estupendo Bare-bones hotel that makes sense if you’re going to be in town (Edinburgh) briefly. Or you really only care about having a decent bed for sleeping at night. It’s located in an ok neighborhood, safe enough, about 15 minutes driving from the Edinburgh Castle. Room was large (about 40m2, for 3 people), bathroom small but renovated and fully functional. No breakfast, no concierge, no nothing: just room, bath and bed. Mattress was a bit hard for my taste, and the pillow too thin. But I still slept quite ok, in part helped by the quietness of the neighborhood. Bottom line, it’s an ok choice if you understand what you are getting into. Don’t expect to get a super deal.

A very old building, without an elevator.
Rooms are spacious but lacking maintenance; in our room, the wallpaper was held in place by black electrical tape (I wish I was kidding).
There was a local festival directly across the street that was not explained to us before arriving.

We had a great stay at Adelphi Hotel in Edinburgh. Dimitris was an exceptional host and the room we stayed in was spotless and so cozy. The staff were great and very polite. Thank you 😊😊

Stay was great value. Friendly welcome. Spend a bit of money (not a lot) to freshen up curtains and paintwork and for the money it’s 5 stars.
