City Park Hotel (Hótel Múli)

The room had no air conditioning. We opened the window but couldn't sleep because the noise from the outside and it wasn't cool enough. We were right above the hotel entrance and when people came in and out they all made noise.

Alexandra and her staff were so kind and helpful. The "continental" breakfast was exceptional. So many options and the bread was so good. Fresh baked and warm when served. The choices were salads, eggs, sausage, several different kinds of yogurt and granolas and much, much more! Our room accommodated 4 of us nicely. If I return to Reykjavik I will definitely stay at the Hotel Muli!

The laundry was a nice surprise. The room was a bet too basic, not even a box of Kleenex or phone. The front desk is not always staffed. Breakfast was ok.

Wonderful staff. Very good breakfast included. Room was comfortable and clean but very small. No air conditioning.

We had a great experience. The room was small which we expected. Everyone’s was friendly and we could get hot chocolate or coffee anytime.

The hotel boasts that there is a free laundry onsite but doesn’t mention that the laundry only includes 1 small washer and dryer for the whole hotel. It was understood that the laundry is first come, first serve but an insufficient laundry is unacceptable. The washer and dryer were constantly in use so the appliances were unable to keep up with the demand. It appeared that there was not sufficient water in the washer to thoroughly wet the clothing being laundered and the dryer was only sufficient to dry 2-3 items at a time. I had to add an extra expense to my trip due to being unable to use the laundry facility that Hotel Muli provided. After checking the laundry room at varying times of the day I was unable to gain access to the washer. Due to the extended wash/dry cycle durations patrons set the appliances on it was very difficult to gain access to the laundry facilities. While in Iceland I had the added expense of paying for transportation to and from an outside laundry to launder my clothes. The cost for transportation and use of the laundry equipment added up to $88.00 (US $) $39 to wash & dry along with $48 for the taxi. This was an expense I did not plan on since I chose a hotel with a laundry facility. It was very frustrated and disappointed by the whole situation.

Hotel was fine and the bed was comfortable. That being said the room had a very poor layout. Nowhere to put suitcases, only option is to unpack which did not make sense for 2 days. Furniture seemed like a dorm room. Also light switches and doors awkwardly placed. Buffet had nice options and appreciated the coffee and tea all day. Other than private room and very comfy beds, it reminded us of a youth hostel. Seemed expensive for what it and where it was (suburban location), but Iceland is pricey!

Breakfast is excellent

Incredible property with an over the top breakfast. I highly recommend.

The room is very tiny. Certainly not enough for two people. There’s free parking around the building, I return to hotel before 9 everyday so I can still manage to find a spot.
