I travel frequently and generally choose Marriott properties because of the consistency, cleanliness, and guest experience associated with the brand. I am also currently evaluating several Marriott properties for a large gathering planned later this year that may require approximately 40 guest rooms. Because of that, I have been paying particularly close attention to the overall guest experience during my recent stays.
In fact, I stayed at another Marriott property the night before this stay, where the service, cleanliness, and attention to detail were exceptional. Unfortunately, my experience at your property was quite different.
To be fair, there were children running through the hallways, laughing, playing, and riding the elevators throughout portions of the evening. Honestly, that did not bother me at all they were simply children having fun and enjoying their stay.
What did become problematic was a high-pitched alarm or tone, similar to a dog whistle, that appeared to be coming from a neighboring or connected building.
The alarm remained active for approximately eight minutes at a time. Once it stopped, there were only about twelve minutes of quiet before it began again. This pattern repeated throughout the night.
