The North Garden Hotel Beijing Wangfujing

This hotel is a time capsule from the 1990’s. Dirty bathtubs, old decoration, gloomy corridors with low light. As you walk to your room it makes you feel that the twin girls from The Shining are going to say “hello” in the next corner. Nevertheless, its location is perfect and that is a great plus for this old hotel. So, if you are not picky with your stay and you prefer a great location, this hotel might do it.

Room is clean, and maid cleans room every day.Location is super just next to WangFuJin - commercial center, a lot of stores, restaurants. Just a mile or so to the major museums, TianAnMen Square.

The hotel has prime location with very affordable prices. Most rooms are outdated

This is NOT a 3 star but a 2 star hotel, maximum. Totally rundown! The bathroom was deplorable: tiles in disrepair, missing grout, moldy joints. We decided to stay because it has a good location, the beds were decent, and moving out meant loosing several hours, almost a day. The daily service was aweful: they never made the beds on any of the 5 nights we spent there. We arrived almost at midnight and slept on 25 degrees. We complained the next day and were promised a "vertical AC" ... we found a basic standing fan when came back that night. We were told that during the cold season"the AC was only blowing"... so we insisted and they opened the window (15 degrees outside) and that is how we stayed. At checking out they were charging us an extra day of breakfast! DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL.

The room were definitely older. But great location

Couldn’t adjust the heating. Found room very cold. However it was spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly.

A spacious and comfortable room, but the bathroom was a bit worn. Highest possible room temperature (in Nov) was 21°C - couldn't make it go higher. Super central location, subway, WangFuJing pedestrian street, malls, TianAnMen Square, Forbidden City, home of Lao She, etc all a short walk away. Luckin Coffee on the first floor, so daily morning fix is settled, if your payment app works. Overall, a very good deal.

Beijing temp sudden drop hence was abit cold and the hotel switch off all the centralized aircon and all rooms no aircon !! My room window face inward of the hotel and have no wind from outside and the room is so warm. I called front desk and the lady brush me off that is normal that now all hotels do that cos weather is cold (btw I m frequent traveler not 1st time stay hotel). They only offer me a portable fan put in my room which 1st time stay hotel with fan not aircon, that’s not what I paid for. I ask for immediate bring to my room, the front desk rude lady even slammed my phone. Pls don’t stay china local brand hotel during cold season or call to double check before book to avoid such bad experience. No doubt the hotel location is very near Wangfujing shopping street. Newly renovated room type are ok although exterior of hotel looks old.

Facilities & service in the hotel is acceptable but do not warrant praise.

The location is good but the map makes it APPEAR closer to the Forbidden Palace then it actually is. It is located on a side street and is walking distance to Wangfujing Pedestrian Street and Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant. I don' think the breakfast was worth the asking price but it was convenient. Ordering online could have been a better option if you have the applicable Chinese Apps. The rooms were clean and average.
