The staff went out of their way to help us set up activities and transportation. The room was large, and the hotel was located by Matira beach. Great find.

I have stayed here twice—first time a beach bungalow and an overwater bungalow and this year the beach bungalow the whole time because we preferred it the first time around. My only issue is that between the two trips, the hotel moved the boat rental area to right in front of the beach bungalows so the beach that was basically private is now essentially a port and you can’t swim or snorkel there. Basically it’s useless to book those cos you will need to walk over to another beach and have constant traffic and visual noise outside your hut. IMO they kinda ruined the beach bungalows making them not worth it. The reason we preferred it the first time around was because you had a great view of the beach, palm trees, and the water (as opposed to essentially having a cruise ship view and a long walk to the beach from the overwater hut) and before you also had a beach to yourself right outside your hut. Now that perk is gone and not worth the minimal price difference between a beach and overwater. Another thing that has changed is that the hotels to the left and across the water went out of business so your view consist of dilapidated huts and caution tape. Obviously Mai Tai can’t do anything about it. Lastly, the neighbors of the hotel consist mostly of private residences (as opposed to most of the hotels on the motu) and they burn weeds and trash in their yards causing an almost constant smell of smoke. Would I stay here a third time? Not unless they move the boat area.

The cleaning staff was very nice, the front desk staff very unpleasant and less helpful-especially some specific persons and restaurant staff slow and like “don’t care” The breakfast buffet food was less than average, coffee is only instant,no espresso machine that is unacceptable for this hotels class and level. The rooms definitely need renovation.

We loved the location of this property. Unfortunately, this place only has 5 good overwater bungalows. The rest are in such shallow water &, or the views are restricted by the other bungalows that are in front of them. I'm sorry to say it, but both the breakfast & Saturday night BBQ buffet, was absolutely horrible. The most watery powdered eggs, I've ever seen, bacon wasn't crispy at all & the options were lacking to say the least for breakfast. Lets just say there's a reason is free. As for the $65 a person BBQ & dance show, do yourself a huge favor & SKIP IT!!! Trash food all the way. Alcohol beverages taste like pure juice & barely had any alcohol. The staff were friendly & the dogs/animals around the property were sweet & loving. I hope this place makes some small changes, because it has so much potential

Great location. Close to two supermarkets which we used daily. Restaurant food at the main hotel was pretty crap at best but the beach restaurant was good with lovely staff. Bora Bora Beach club is a short walk for beautiful sunsets and beach time. Lucky Restaurant down the road is also a much better place to dine. Bring your own snorkeling gear and paddleboards to make the most of this location!

Such a welcoming staff. Property was very clean and we were super satisfied with our King Room third floor ocean view! Wow! My only comment would be limited breakfast buffet and they need a real coffee machine. Other wise the a la carte menu was extensive and very high quality.
