The pool with waterslide was out of order and the hot tub too. The hotel plays kids movies outside and very loud every evening that if you are hoping for a quiet evening, you have to listen to the movie until 10. Make sure you ask to have your room away from the movie area. Also noticed that some of the staff in the registration area treat people differently based on how they look. I was one of those people who did not get a map or asked if needed help to take my things to the room. It was noticeable as I watched the same staff offer assistance and showed the map to certain people while I was in line. Not ok and not what I expect from a 4 star hotel

Hello, my name is Monique Chavez. I just recently booked a room at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay on Thursday, July 9, 2026 for Sunday July 12, 2026 for a one night staycation. When we arrived, I went to check in and the staff asked me to wait thirty minutes till my room was ready so I went to the pool. When we arrived to the pool, all slides, one pool and the hot tub was closed off with fencing and no staff could give an explanation as to why. I was very disappointed because I booked a few days before and to find out all these areas closed on Friday, July 11, 2026, which should have given the hotel and Expedia time to contact us about the amenities of the pool and slides not working, I had family coming to visit me at the hotel and I booked the room so my son could have a full day of fun in the sun for his summer break. The hotel staff did try to accommodate the plunge but the whole idea was for us to stay on the resort and not have to drive anywhere. They did have games to offer but the whole reason we went to this hotel was for the slides and pools. I did accept the paddle board offer but that ended at five pm and check in time was at four pm. They also offered me breakfast in the morning and advised me that it closes at eleven thirty am, when I arrived at eleven am the next day, they said they were closed. I spent $300 for one night to have a stay of disappointments. I would like request if Expedia or Hyatt Regency to accommodate me one night stay or refund me my money.pls

Made reservations months and months ago for a week-long vacation in San Diego. I chose this hotel ONLY because of the pools and slides. The pools and slides were closed the day after we arrived and are now closed indefinitely. While the staff was helpful and it wasn’t their fault the pools broke, the hotel is NOT worth the stay without the pools. There was no communication regarding the pools. I had to ask to be reimbursed for the hotel fees. Hugely disappointing.

The staff were very friendly and very unhelpful and incredibly ill informed. They were not aware of resort programming and repeatedly have us incorrect information which messed up a few of our ticketed event schedules. Again, very friendly and apologetic but not efficient. The room cleanliness was lacking- hair in the tub and on the toilets, unswept bathroom floors, stained linens not completely dry. Also, they told us after arrival that the water slide and hot tub areas were closed indefinitely, which was a major reason I booked this location. Enjoyed my stay, people were nice but I will NOT be back. This location did not reflect the Hyatt Regency standards of hospitality.

I love that fact everything was so close to the hotel. Only thing I missed was a microwave in the room...

The room was dirty there was a dresser on the floor and the TV cabinet had stains from drinks from the previous customers, the installation in general does not seem to receive maintenance, the pool the water was not clear and only one worked the other two were closed and the hot tub, there are several tiles are missing and dark stains are observed, the steps are sharp needing replaster, I managed to damage my knee, the cleaning staff accumulated the dirty towels in the corners of the corridor and all the folders looked like there had been a vacuum cleaner for days, I am not going to return and I recommend that you look around other options before choosing these!

Nice resort and loved the marina location. Unfortunately the pool with the slides didn’t have a heater and were fully closed one of the days we were there. Appreciated the family activities!

We originally booked a patio room. Upon checking in, the staff told us they were sold out of king bed with patio and gave us a room in the 2nd floor no balcony. It was a standard room with 2 queen beds. However upon entering the room, it smelled extremely musty, poor air quality. I went down stairs to talk to the front desk they said they didn’t not have any other balcony rooms available. The Fan was running. The room felt humid. Could not figure out how to turn the AC on. We did not sleep well in a humid smelly room. The front desk did say they would give us comp parking as well as breakfast. However we paid close $600 for the 1 night to sleep in a musty room. I’m not happy with this experience.

Lovely & helpful staff. Any issues we had they corrected immediately. It’s not the newest property, but still very nice.

. We had high hopes for our stay, but unfortunately it ended on a very disappointing note. On our third night, someone entered our room and stole my husband’s watch. We immediately reported the incident to hotel management and completed a report, but we never received any follow-up or communication regarding what happened. The lack of concern and accountability made an already upsetting situation even more frustrating. To make matters worse, we were also overcharged for our stay. We were billed for an extra night, and despite bringing the billing issue to the hotel’s attention, it was not handled satisfactorily. A hotel should provide both security and responsive customer service. Unfortunately, our experience fell short in both areas. We left feeling disappointed, unheard, and without confidence that our concerns were taken seriously. Based on our experience, we would not stay here again. Keep in mind the resort is not even gated so a lot of Homeless people were parked next to the property but no one told us anything until the day we checked out
